Gay Marriage Ban Tied to Obamarama

Barack Obama’s popularity with the black and hispanic communities may compromise the future of gay marriage in California.

Proposition 8, a measure to ban gay marriage in the Golden State, is going to be on the November 4th ballot. The same ballot as Barack Obama’s presidency.

Many pollsters are predicting an increase in black and hispanic voters, excited about Obama’s run for the White House. Gay rights activists are calling this a catch 22. Although Barack Obama is against Prop. 8, members of the two minorities who are expected to cast a vote in his direction, are typically conservative when it comes to issues regarding homosexuality.

Opponents of Prop. 8 are already airing commercials and setting up public events to spread the word about the necessity of equal rights, and relating this to civil rights issues.
