WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BARACK OBAMA?

We will all remember where we were on the night of Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:00 PM ET. It was truly a historic evening. Senator, Barack Obama, officially became the 44th President of the United States of America.

I started the night at 7:00 at New York City’s largest election night viewing party hosted by Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century (DL21C) at New World Stages. It was 20,000 square feet of celebrating our liberal ideals. There were 15-ft projection TVs, dozens of plasma screens, dj’s, bands, press rooms, blogging rooms and the night’s favorite drink of choice… the Obamamama, followed by the Scranton Scrapper!

I had the chance to meet many members of the LGBT community during this event. As CNN projected more and more blue-state wins… I was asking gay men and women why they were supporting the Obama/Biden ticket, and what kind of change they were hoping for in a new America.
