Gay Couples Connect in Connecticut
Today is a big day for the gay community. We are now being issued marriage licenses in Connecticut. The first license was issued today in New Haven. It was a long time coming as eight couples took on the state and said they were being denied their civil rights.
The first marriage license went to Barbara and Robin Levine-Ritterman of New Haven, one of the eight couples who successfully challenged a state law prohibiting gay marriage.
“It’s a great day for Connecticut,” Robin Levine-Ritterman said after the judge declared the final decision.
We took a step back in California, but a huge step forward in Connecticut.
