Stay Slim & Trim this Holiday Season

I’m trying my hardest to stay in shape this holiday season. Last December, I had a cookie party. I was eating cookies until February. My stomach was a cookie jar… I suffered from something called muffin top. My belly fat was dripping over my pants and belt. I looked like a overflowing corn muffin. I now see photos of myself from last year… shirt buttons were popping around my belly button.

Tips for staying slim & trim this holiday season:

1. Become a kid again! Most of the time adults are hanging around the food/dessert tables. On top of that, adults are sipping the vino and downing the beers. Kids are usually doing something active and could easily take your mind off the calorie rich cookies!

2. Be the family fun guy/gal! You can be the one who suggests bringing the family together for a fun activity, Christmas carols, board games, snow ball fights and snow angels.

3. Give up the boozin’! Something that always works for me, drink lots of water.

4. Goodbye cookie monster, hello veggie monster! If it’s unlikely to hang out with your family and friends without snacking, find your way to the veggie platter. Eat lots of carrots, celery and even the cheese plate. Moderate dairy intake is great for getting rid of the belly fat!

5. Take a hike… literally! If you’re salivating at the smells of all the delicious treats, get out of the house. You can recommend a quick hike around the neighborhood. Maybe you’ll bump into some neighbors or friends and spread a little extra holiday cheer!
