Can I Have a Sexy Stomach?

Truth be told, I have been on a quest to achieve one of those bodies that seem almost impossible to have. You know, bulging biceps, terrific triceps, sexy/strong shoulders, bangin’ butt and of course ABS!!!

I’ve been hitting the gym three to four days a week for the past four years. So, where do I stand? I have the arms, chest and shoulders I’ve been searching for. But, those damn abdominals are going to be the death of me. Hell, when I’m dead, just spray paint the damn things on my belly. Come on, are perfect abs really achievable for the average BO?

To be honest, maybe. Something I realized is, you have to actually use your stomach muscles. Here’s what I mean, there was a time when I would just do crunches without holding my stomach tight. I’m sure many of us do this. The trick is actually to hold your stomach in tight, and use it as the main force behind each crunch or abdominal motion. Make sense? Maybe I’m stupid, but I just learned this.

But, if you have fat above your abs you’re never going to see all your hard work. Here’s some easy tips to trim the waistline.

1. Get your vitamin C – citrus fruit, cantaloupe and red peppers can help reduce fat! Eat an orange a day or a cup of strawberries.

2. Eat bananas – they’re packed with potassium which helps banish any bloating.

3. Eat the foods you hated as kids – oat meal and vegetables take a while to digest. This keeps you fuller longer and you’re less likely to snack on Twix bars in the afternoon (like me).

4. Go for a stroll a**hole – that’s what a friend of mine always says. If you get hungry, go for a 15 minute walk. I don’t know why it works, but it does. If you can make it past 15 minutes the craving with disappear… it’s magic.
