Wanna take a bite out of your boyfriends “apple” in NYC… well looks like the city that never sleeps wants you to do just that. Manhattan has been the reigning #1 city in the United States for gay visitors, and wants to keep it that way.

The nation’s largest city just unveiled a marketing campaign targeting the LGBT community. The Rainbow Pilgrimage Campaign highlights New York’s reputation as a gay-friendly travel destination and touts a visit to the city as a “rite of passage.”

The campaign comes just ahead of the June 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which is considered by many as the start of the gay liberation movement. Stonewall is a bar almost every gay man and woman should visit is Sheridan Square.

Gays and lesbians accounted for about 10 percent of the 47 million people who visited NYC last year.

Overall, New York City remains the top leisure and business travel destination for gays and lesbians followed closely by Las Vegas and San Francisco.

My advice for an amazing evening in NYC - start the night at Xai Xai, order a Malbec and cheese platter. Follow it up with a musical - highly recommend “Wicked.” Finally make your way over to Gallo Nero for a delicious Italian dinner and some more vino! Afterwards… take a bite out of his or her “apple.”
