I think Whitney Houston sang it best… “I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.”

Well, our kids are going to change the way the United States and perhaps the world views love. You can tell by the way they talk and even by the way they draw about love. I stumbled upon this out there in the blog world… beautiful story… love is indeed the message!

On Friday night my 15 yr. old step-daughter started a conversation during a commercial with: “today in sex ed. class”…

Evidently they had a worksheet in class, and on that worksheet one of the things was a definition of marriage… “one man and one woman”… you know, that old chestnut. She raised her hand and told the teacher that she did not agree with that definition of marriage. And went on to state what she felt marriage should be.

  1. I’m sorry, but 15 years old is not a “kid” .. at 15 I was well aware that I was bisexual, and had already dated. I even know people who’d already had children at that point. So, the fact that this 15 yr old knew enough about homosexuality and bisexuality to show the HRC.org symbol in her drawing shows that she’s not just an innocent child, but she’s done her research. Good for her, but it’s not the same as if she were 6 or 7 or something.

  2. How cool to bump into this over here! My partner and I also believe that it will be this generation of young people that will change the way the world views and accepts love! Also, the above comment has truth in it also. Our daughter does already know of kids at her school who are already identifying themselves as bi or gay. We are very proud of how she stands up for whatever she believes in. Here’s to all our kids!
